Configuration Management Specialist Crystal City, VA Pay From: $80,000 per year MUST: Experienced Configuration Manager Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI 2+ years of experience in configuration management in a Federal or DoD environment Experience with change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits in complex IT systems Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Jira, Git, SCCM, or similar) Strong understanding of CM process and proper technical documentation Excellent communication skills both written and verbal High attention to details and solid documentation skills Bachelor's Degree in science, engineering, business management, mathematics or computer science DUTIES: The ideal candidate will help with the managing of configuration control processes, ensuring the integrity of technical documentation and software, and coordinating all aspects of the configuration management lifecycle Work with the team to define and enforce processes for configuration identification, change management, and configuration audits across the project lifecycle Collaborate with stakeholders to assess configuration management needs and propose solutions to ensure consistency and control in the configuration process Work with the team to define and maintain a system for configuration identification of all project deliverables (documents, software, hardware, etc.) throughout the lifecycle Establish and document a naming convention, version control, and baseline procedures to ensure proper tracking and control of configuration items (CIs) Coordinate with product teams to identify and classify the components that will be managed under configuration control Use the procedures created by the team to produce documents, software, hardware, and related configurations Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of configuration items, including their status, configuration history, and current configurations Track and report on the progress of configuration management activities, ensuring compliance with the configuration management plan and customer requirements Work closely with engineering, development, and testing teams to ensure proper configuration management practices are followed throughout the project lifecycle Communicate with stakeholders, including government representatives and subcontractors, to ensure alignment on configuration management policies and procedures Provide guidance and training to team members and project personnel on configuration management processes and best practices Identify opportunities for process improvements and propose enhancements to existing configuration management practices
