We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a stellar track record to be a technical hands-on leader for this critical area. This is a key technical leadership role for an engineer who excels at mentoring others and driving large-scale initiatives. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have a direct impact on our products and our team, with opportunities to grow in either the technical or management career track.

AS A SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL:
  • Deliver Customer Impact: Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers and designers to shape the future product direction and deliver meaningful value to our customers.

  • Architect the Future: Design and build the next generation of user experiences and backend services for the Snowflake Marketplace, ensuring a reliable and highly performant platform that delivers value to our customers and partners.

  • Drive Technical Vision: Be the primary owner of the technical roadmap for the team. You will identify key architectural challenges, propose innovative solutions, and lead their execution, setting the standard for engineering excellence.

  • Elevate Engineering Culture: Act as a force multiplier for the team. You will mentor and coach junior engineers, champion best practices, and lead by example in coding, testing, and system design, helping to cultivate a world-class engineering organization. This role provides opportunities to help shape and grow the team.

OUR IDEAL SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER WILL HAVE:
  • Technical Leadership: 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, defining project scope, setting technical direction, and guiding complex projects from concept to launch.

  • Full Stack Mastery: 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and building robust, scalable full-stack web applications.

  • Technical Depth: Significant proficiency with modern web technologies, including:

    • Frontend: TypeScript, React, and NodeJS.

    • Backend: Experience developing distributed services with languages like Java, Python, or Go.

  • Product Passion: A genuine passion for creating exceptional user experiences and a relentless drive to deliver measurable value to customers and partners.

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:

  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $222,000 - $309,750.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Snowflake's bonus and equity plan.

The successful candidate's starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; at least 12 paid holidays; paid time off; parental leave; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
