PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Women and Gender Center, as part of the Department of Student Engagement within Student Life at
ECU, fosters student success by creating a connection as part of the
ECU community. The Women and Gender Center works to support students in achieving their academic and personal goals through education and engagement on women's related topics, supports mental health, and student success.
JOB DESCRIPTION The Women and Gender Center (
WGC) is currently seeking several
WGC Program Assistants to serve as Peer Educators to assist with facilitating programming, social media content creation, event tabling, and educating on the office vision, goals, and services. In addition to their role as a Peer Educator, Women and Gender Center Program Assistants will assist in the overall management of the
WGC and perform a variety of office duties which include, but are not limited to:
* Answering phone calls
* Copying & filing documents
* Welcoming guests to the office
* Managing the office lending library
* Help with event setup, tabling, and day-of logistics
* Design digital and print promotional materials (flyers, graphics, etc.)
* Create and schedule social media content (Instagram, stories, reels, etc.)
This position is for an average of 10 hours per week at a rate of $12.00 / hr. Hours will be worked between Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm with some occasional weekend hours as needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Strong communication and organizational skills
* Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
* Experience using tools like Canva and/or similar design software
* Interest in student engagement, event planning, and student success
* Comfortable representing the
WGC at events, tabling, and outreach activities
* Detail-oriented and able to manage tasks with sensitivity and confidentiality when needed.
