The Organoid and Cell Culture Core (OCCC) generates 2D and 3D in vitro models that can replicate the morphological features of broad epithelial tissues in health and diseases. The core offers a range of off-the-shelf frozen organoids and cell culture lines, as well as supplemental reagents, hands-on training, and expertise to support and guide clients towards utilizing and/or incorporating organoid and cell culture-based model systems to advance their specific research objectives.

Functional Knowledge



  • Knowledge of the research subject and scientific methods of analysis


Problem Solving



  • Utilizes analytical skills to solve moderately complex problems based on protocols


Decision Making/Autonomy



  • Works within guidelines to carry out assigned duties in the design and conduct of experiments and subsequent analysis of data


Technical Expertise



  • Ability to operate and maintain equipment, computers, software programs, and research tools and methods in support of the project


Communication



  • Document routine and experimental protocols, using batch records or a similar system; share information and data with colleagues and supervisors


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in specific research field (Biology, Biochemistry, or other Life Sciences)


Other Requirements



  • Candidate is expected to understand the basic principles of 2D and 3D cell culture and to follow and adapt established protocols independently.
  • Candidate will need to determine what work needs to be done when and in what order, and to utilize time management skills in order to prioritize work.
  • 4 years preferred, but not required. 2 years may be substituted with a Master's degree.
