The Opportunity The Asset Performance Team in Predictive Insights is looking for a person with a strong interest in the design, specification, modelling and performance analysis of reciprocating and centrifugal compressors and their associated drivers. The Performance Engineer, reporting to the Asset Performance manager, is responsible for developing, maintaining, and utilizing models for reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, as well as their respective drivers, which include reciprocating engines, gas turbines, and electric motors. They will be tasked with leveraging the models along with real-time (Aveva PI) and unit analysis (Windrock) data along with other software solutions to monitor, troubleshoot and optimize the performance of the TC Energy fleet of over 1100 compressors. They will do this in cooperation with our stakeholders, including Operations Technical Services, Commercial Operations, Business Development, Project Development, Projects, and Field Operations. Success in this position will require not only technical expertise but also strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. The Performance Engineer will interact regularly with internal and external partners, using their insights to drive performance improvements and operational excellence. Curiosity, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset will be key attributes for thriving in this environment. The successful candidate has proven skills, competencies and capacity to work both independently and collaboratively with a keen focus on technical details, forward thinking, and problem solving. This individual should be comfortable with data analysis, process development and optimization as well as decision making. Attention to details and the ability to focus on longer term projects is desirable. Experience with ACI eRCM Pro modeling software, Aveva PI System tools, Ariel7 and PLC Logic are a plus. Demonstrated interest or experience in using Python scripting to automate and optimize compressor performance analytics is also a plus, as it enhances the team's ability to deliver actionable insights and streamline operational processes.
