The Position The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Scientist to join our dynamic NGS Library Preparation and Target Enrichment team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the execution of sample preparation workflows, contributing to our ongoing research and development efforts. This position requires a strong foundation in molecular biology techniques, hands-on experience with relevant instrumentation, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

In this role, you are:

  • Preparing NGS libraries from various sample types, demonstrating proficiency in multiple library construction methods.
  • Extracting DNA and RNA from diverse biological samples, optimizing protocols for yield and purity, and accurately quantifying nucleic acids using instruments like Qubit and NanoDrop.
  • Operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting sequencing platforms for routine sequencing runs, and utilizing quality control methods such as Agilent TapeStation for nucleic acids and NGS libraries.
  • Maintaining detailed experimental records, including laboratory notebooks and digital data, while analyzing and interpreting experimental results for report generation and presentations.
  • Collaborating with team members on experimental design, troubleshooting, and data analysis, while adhering to laboratory safety guidelines and maintaining an organized workspace.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field with 2-4 years of relevant laboratory experience, preferably in an industry setting.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with NGS library preparation protocols (e.g., DNA-seq, RNA-seq, exome sequencing).
  • Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques, including PCR, nucleic acid extraction, and purification.

  • Solid experience with DNA QC instruments such as Qubit, Tapestation, Nanodrop, etc.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage time efficiently to meet project timelines.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

The expected salary range for this position in Pleasanton is $79,000.00 - $109,365.00 USD annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
