The Position: The Jewish Museum will debut its renewed and reimagined collection galleries and center for learning on October 24, 2025. We are seeking additional per diem educators to primarily conduct onsite tours for adult groups of the Museum's special exhibitions and collection exhibition. Some virtual teaching opportunities will also be available. Responsibilities: * Conduct gallery talks (either onsite and/or online) on a range of topics related to the Jewish Museum's collection and special exhibitions with a special focus on modern and contemporary art * Conduct art historical research and prepare PowerPoint presentations independently * Attend occasional training sessions which will be recorded for future reference Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in art history, museum studies, museum education, or related field, master's preferred * Deep knowledge of art history * Knowledge of modern and contemporary art * Five or more years related experience working in museums and/or teaching art history * Strong verbal skills, dynamic educator * Flexibility in adapting to the needs of diverse audiences * Reliability * Experience teaching in a museum with original works of art (for onsite teaching) and/or familiarity teaching on Zoom with Power Point presentations (for virtual teaching) * A flexible schedule, with Sunday, weekday, and evening availability preferred Per Diem Educator Pay Rates: Meetings/Trainings/Prep: $46.35/hour Family Programs $72.10/hour Tour - 60 minutes $144.20/tour Tour - 90 minutes $195.70/tour Tour - 120 minutes $236.90/tour Multi Visit Partnership Periods $154.50/session Workshops and Special Projects $267.80/session Send Resume with Cover Letter To: Director, Human Resources The Jewish Museum 1109 Fifth Avenue New York, NY 10128 Email: jobs@thejm.org The Jewish Museum is committed to diversifying its staff and encourages individuals of all abilities and ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds to apply for this position.
