As Director of Product, Internal Developer Experience, you will own the strategy, roadmap, and adoption of our internal developer platform and tooling. This role is a high-impact individual contributor position, you will define the paved path for development for our internal developer Hyperforce Platform at Salesforce, align cross-functional teams, and drive measurable improvements in developer productivity, safety, and developer satisfaction. You'll work directly with engineering and executive leadership to ensure our developers have the best possible tools to innovate at scale.

As a hands-on product leader, your communication skills are matched only by your passion for innovation. Your innate drive pushes you to chart a path even when faced with uncertainty. What We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years in Technical Product Management (or equivalent) with direct experience in developer platforms, internal tools, or DevOps products.

  • 2+ years working with public cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-based application architectures.

  • Enterprise software experience, including understanding of scale, security, and non-functional requirements.

  • Deep understanding of modern software development practices, CI/CD pipelines, version control, automated testing, and observability.

  • Proven track record of delivering tools that developers adopt and love.

  • Proven success in driving adoption of developer tooling through advocacy, training, and cultural change in organizations of thousands of engineers.

  • Exceptional communication skills, able to distill complex technical concepts for both executives and engineers.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to bring clarity and alignment across large organizations.

  • Data-driven decision-making skills, with experience using analytics to guide product choices.

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

In This Position, You Will:

  • Set the Vision: Define and evolve the strategic roadmap for Salesforce's internal developer tools, platforms, and internal developer paved paths for Hyperforce.

  • Voice of the Developer: Engage proactively with engineers, capturing feedback and ensuring alignment with product vision and company goals.

  • Measure Impact: Establish and track KPIs such as deployment frequency, build success rate, time-to-merge, and developer satisfaction.

  • Prioritize Investments: Balance developer needs, business goals, and technical constraints to deliver maximum impact.

  • Drive Adoption: Craft and execute go-to-market and enablement strategies to achieve org-wide adoption.

  • Identify Gaps: Spot friction in developer workflows and champion solutions to improve speed, quality, and reliability.

  • Influence at Scale: Build consensus across senior engineering and security leaders, resolving conflicting tooling preferences to drive standardization.

  • Champion the Product: Act as the face of developer experience internally via advisory boards, demos, and roadmap updates.

  • Enable Developers: Ensure documentation, onboarding, and training materials empower developers to quickly and confidently use the platform.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Past experience as a software engineer or developer.

  • Prior ownership of an internal developer platform or similar enterprise-scale tooling product.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $211,500 to $306,600. For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $230,800 to $334,600.
