The New York City Department of Transportation provides for the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible movement of people and goods in the City of New York and maintains and enhances the transportation infrastructure crucial to the economic vitality and quality of life of City residents. Job Description: Selected candidate will serve as a Investigator for the Security unit within the Facilities Management Division at the Department of Transportation. Under administrative direction, with latitude to exercise independent initiative and judgment, the selected candidate performs the following: Minimum Qualifications 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or Preferred Skills
1. Operational knowledge of Security CCTV cameras and recording devices 2. Operational knowledge of Mobile handheld devices i.e. tablets, laptops, Cellular phones 3. Operational knowledge and proficient is Microsoft Windows 10, MS Word and MS Excel 4. Valid NYS Driver's License 5. Able to lift and carry 40lbs Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
