Shaft Machining Operator - 2nd Shift

This Position reports to:

Production Supervisor
Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to operate process equipment or machinery to convert raw materials or semi-finished parts into components or finished parts for a final product at the right time and with the required quality. Each day, you will execute the assigned tasks according to agreed workflows and in accordance with ABB standard processes and safety guidelines and reports any non-compliance. You will also showcase your expertise by operating machines in accordance with the operating manual, work schedule, and/or production order instructions.

The work model for the role is: Onsite

You will be mainly accountable for:
  • Reading work instructions to determine job specifications, machine adjustments, and material requirements.
  • Produce a quality product using quality plans and work instructions.
  • Ensuring regular standard maintenance of the equipment, tools set-up, programming activities, and troubleshooting and reporting issues, if any; and maintaining detailed records of machinery set-ups, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Able to follow directions (verbal and written), has a good work ethic, and dependable.
  • Must meet production requirements, produce defect free work and keep their area clean.
  • Must be able to learn and operate multiple machines.
  • Must be able to read and follow special instructions and follow critical parameters and work instructions.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Place safety in the workplace above all else and follow safety guidelines along with reporting safety issues. Daily housekeeping.
  • Work overtime as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for the role
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 6 months of Industrial type experience or military service or in lieu of industrial experience, will consider vocational/ technical high school and technical college courses.
  • Previous CNC/machining experience.
  • Previous motor experience preferred.
  • Candidates must have a work authorization that would permit them to work in the United States.
