Overview
Astrion/MEIS is seeking a Configuration Management Documentation Analyst to join our Space Systems division. MEIS (an Astrion subsidiary) supports NASA Ames Research Center Development Support Office (DSO). The DSO has been set up to manage typical planning, environmental review, engineering support and permitting activities specific to development projects within the NASA Ames Research Park. US Citizenship required. Requires successful Background check. The Development Support Office (DSO) manages the processes involved with the tenant submission of all design, construction, and related documents for review, approval, permitting and inspections. DSO adheres to the same policies, procedures, and authorities that currently guide the existing NASA ARC Design Review Board (DRB) and Construction Permitting Review Board (PRB) processes. DSO contractor will adhere to the applicable NASA and Ames Procedures, California Building Standards Codes, and other federal and local codes addressing permitting and inspections. The DSO contractor is responsible for implementing the DSO Program functions efficiently, and economically. Responsibilities for this role include:
- Project controls - managing budgets, funding, billing, and reconciliation requirements
- Generate monthly actual expenditure reports
- Forecasting availability of funding requirements
- Generate tenant project and task specific charge codes.
- Tracking and overview of the actual costs against specific projects.
- Intake and return project submittals to applicants
- Facilitate and manage all DSO documents that are submitted for review and approval
- Work with DSO personnel to manage specific electronic workflows and routing processes necessary for the timely submission of all related documents for review, approval and permitting.
- Responsible for design and management of the DSO electronic program management systems (SharePoint), document storage (NASA Box) and program document controls
- Provide training for SharePoint users (NASA Ames, Developers, DSO, Consultants, and contractors).
- Maintenance of the master DSO processes and procedures and has an active role in updating this as needed
- Manages the document control process: hard copy; electronic filing; retrieval; distribution coordinate document control processes with the NASA Ames Design Review Board.
- NASA Ames construction permit process and with the requirements of NASA Ames design and construction of facilities process
- Provide responses regarding standard questions regarding building codes and building permit application process and procedures.
- Ensure applicants fill out forms correctly and review applications upon receipt to prepare for processing.
- Ensure documents submitted are acceptable for plan check relating to civil, architectural, structural, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and other potential disciplines of building review.
- Sort, prepare, catalog, and route permit application packages.
- Maintain permit package files for records management system processing
- Process permits which require interdepartmental review or the services of building inspectors.
Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- 10-15 years working experience as a document control, configuration manager, project controls, or contract administrator.
- Understanding of NASA procedural and Ames Procedural requirements (NPR's and APR's) specific to permitting and construction.
- SharePoint and cloud storage systems
- Understanding of accounting and construction principles
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Onsite 5 days per week
