Responsibilities

We're seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Engineer to lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams supporting mission-critical initiatives across the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and other Federal Agencies. In this role, you'll drive full lifecycle systems engineering-ensuring timely and accurate delivery of GEOINT solutions that serve national security and allied interests.

Key Responsibilities:

    Lead and mentor mid- and junior-level systems engineers across the full systems engineering lifecycle-including requirements development, solution design, integration, testing, and maintainability.

  • Guide the planning and traceability of user needs, architecture alignment, workflows, and cloud service capabilities to optimize system performance and reliability.

  • Translate mission and customer requirements into actionable technical solutions and architectures.

  • Support systems integration efforts across diverse programs and agencies, ensuring cohesive performance and operational success.

  • Conduct engineering analyses, including Alternatives of Analysis (AoAs), Trade Studies, and Course of Action (CoA) evaluations.

  • Assist in strategic technical planning, risk management, interface design, and performance engineering.

  • Operate at a mission-level scope, integrating complex systems, services, and interfaces across multiple organizational and acquisition boundaries.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical/scientific field (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, IT, MIS, or another STEM discipline)

    • OR 4 additional years of relevant experience (no degree)

    • OR 2 additional years of relevant experience (with a non-STEM degree)

  • Experience:

    • 12+ years of relevant experience in government or industry

    • Background in one or more of the following:

      • DoD/IC Acquisition Process

      • Requirements and PPBES Process

      • Systems engineering for large, complex System-of-Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) in cloud, on-premise, or hybrid environments

    • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and practices

  • Domain Knowledge:

    • Familiarity with NSG/ASG and NRO missions

    • Previous project experience supporting NGA, NSG/ASG, or other IC/DoD programs

  • Technical Skills:

    • Hands-on experience with AWS: developing applications, managing infrastructure, and utilizing AWS services for cloud computing tasks

  • Clearance:

    • TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph.

Desired:
  • Education:

    • Master's degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical/scientific field (as listed above)

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Working knowledge of:

      • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

      • Digital Engineering

      • Software Development methodologies

    • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification

    • Documented experience in geospatial systems or technologies

  • Professional Involvement:

    • Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE)

    • Membership or leadership in relevant professional organizations, including:

      • ACSM, ASCE, ASPRS, OGC, SAREM, USGIF

  • Subject Matter Expertise:

    • Demonstrated expertise in:

      • Photogrammetry

      • Remote sensing

      • Image science

      • Information science

      • Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

      • Geomatics or related disciplines

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
