This is a UC San Diego Department-Only Internal Recruitment open to UC San Diego Central Advancement (0450) Career Employees Only. You must be in this department to be considered The Senior Director of Development, Corporate and Foundation Relations (SDOD-CFR) fulfills an important role in UC San Diego's development program. Under the general direction of the Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations (EDOD-CFR), the SDOD-CFR has responsibility for planning activities, setting priorities, and determining effective strategies designed to maximize foundation support to the University. Responsibility will focus on corporate and foundation prospects capable of making grants and gifts of $1,000,000 - $5,000,000, from a portfolio of highly visible, prominent foundations and top-tier corporations where long-term relationships need to be built. The SDOD-CFR is responsible for managing a prospect/donor portfolio in various stages of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. They work collaboratively with faculty, academic leadership, and development offices to create and implement strategies for approaching companies and foundations; serve as a recognized campus expert in corporate and foundation engagement; and regularly have impact and influence on campus policy and program development. The SDOD-CFR's portfolio includes many of the campus's most complex and important corporate and foundation partners. The incumbent will apply knowledge and understanding of UC San Diego and the strength of multi-sector collaboration to better position the University for large impact grant and gift funding. The holder of this position must be comfortable working with prominent foundation leaders and senior volunteers as well as executive level corporate contacts; and must have a successful record of building partnerships to advance the University's mission. The SDOD-CFR will be encouraged to operate autonomously and to exercise initiative and authority within general parameters set by the EDOD-CFR, and to represent the EDOD-CFR and the Department whenever necessary. Incumbent will work collaboratively with other units within Advancement as well as the Office of Research and Innovation and the Office of Contract and Grant Administration to administer internal processes and protocols and will serve as a grant and research data integrity officer within Advancement. The incumbent will directly supervise CFR team members, supporting their work and professional growth. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $119,400 - $230,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $57.18 - $110.54 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
