KPMG is currently seeking a Manager or Senior Manager, Tax, National Power & Utilities Practice
to join our Business Tax Services practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with complex income tax accounting issues, including FERC regulatory accounting for taxes issues and ratemaking for taxes issues
  • Assist with Mergers and Acquisitions transactions, include due diligence, structuring, and post-transaction integration
  • Serve as an audit tax specialist
  • Lead complex tax compliance engagements
  • Build, manage, direct, and monitor multiple client engagement teams while maintaining active communication with clients to manage expectations and help ensure client satisfaction
  • Contribute to a growing team and industry sector while collaborating with other tax service lines and industry leadership, learning and sharing industry best practices across the country, and assisting in developing training curriculum, both for internal and external audiences

Additional Responsibilities for a Senior Manager:
  • Lead, participate in, and contribute to market and business development activities external to the firm, including identifying and pursuing new potential client service opportunities by collaborating with KPMG's other Tax service lines as well as KPMG's Audit and Advisory practices

Qualifications:
  • Minimum five years of recent business tax experience in an accounting firm, business and/or law firm
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university; licensed CPA or attorney or EA, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing; any individuals who do not possess at least one of the approved designations/credentials when their employment commences has one year from their date of hire to obtain at least one of the approved designations/credentials; should you like to see the complete list of currently approved designations/credentials for the hiring practice/service line, your recruiter can provide you with that list. Master's Degree, J.D., and/or LL.M. preferred
  • Experience with business taxation and the Power & Utilities industry
  • Background leading multiple tax engagements and client service teams as well as developing and mentoring tax staff within a collaborative team environment; excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to evaluate and articulate complex information in both words and numbers
  • Willingness to travel up to twenty-five percent

Additional Qualifications for a Senior Manager:
  • Minimum eight years of recent business tax experience in an accounting firm, business, and/or law firm; experience mentoring and counseling staff/senior level team members
  • Track record of business development with the ability to develop and maintain existing internal and external client relationships and help build new relationships with key targets

California Salary Range: $96800 - $187500
