About this opportunity:

The Ball State University Counseling Center is looking for YOU, an experienced psychologist, to join our growing, innovative and diverse team. The ideal candidate will be a licensed psychologist (licensure in Indiana a plus) with at least one year of experience working in a university counseling center or with young adults. Experience with testing/assessment or working with anxiety disorders, trauma or substance use disorders is desirable. Certification as a mental performance consultant (CMPC) or actively seeking certification is highly desirable.

What you'll do and what you'll bring:

Position Function: Provide individual and group counseling; outreach/consultation services for Ball State University students, faculty, and staff; conduct supervision, training and perform administrative duties as assigned; serve on unit and university committees as appointed and assigned.

Job Duties:

  • Provide individual and group counseling services to students.
  • Provide outreach/consultation services as assigned.
  • Provide supervision and instruction to students in accredited training programs.
  • Provide university and community service.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A.B.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from both a program and internship that are A.P.A.-accredited; Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D. or similar degree must be completed 6 months of employment.
  • Completion of A.P.A.-accredited internship.
  • Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completed Ph.D., Psy.D. or Ed.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from a program and internship that is A.P.A. accredited.
  • One year of experience providing therapy to college students or young adult population. Experience working with athletes, anxiety disorders, testing/assessment, trauma, or substance use disorders is highly desirable.
  • Licensed psychologist in Indiana.
