We are currently seeking a Recreational Therapist to help patients achieve their highest level of functioning and well-being through creative and therapeutic recreation programs. At Sentara Obici Hospital, you'll be part of a collaborative environment that values innovation, teamwork, and holistic care. Located in the heart of Suffolk, Virginia, our full-service community hospital combines advanced medical care with a warm, supportive atmosphere that fosters both professional and personal growth. The Recreational Therapist plans and implements medically prescribed recreational therapy programs designed to enhance patients' cognitive, emotional, and physical health. Using a variety of assessment tools, you will evaluate patient needs and develop individualized plans of care that promote participation, independence, and quality of life. You will lead both individual and group sessions, incorporating leisure education, adaptive activities, and therapeutic interventions that support the patient's overall treatment goals. The role also includes ongoing evaluation and documentation of patient progress while working closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal care outcomes.
