Overall Summary:

The Team Lead I supports the Commingle department and reports to the Lettershop Supervisor. They direct and lead employees to accomplish assigned tasks according to Company guidelines, customer specifications, and industry standards.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Assist with task assignment according to customer requirements.
  • Coach and train team members.
  • Direct and assist department personnel as needed to accomplish department goals.
  • Communicate Commingle updates to all departmental staff at shift change.
  • Inform management of staffing needs and/or production problems.
  • Communicate safety guidelines to employees to ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations such as OSHA.
  • Verify adherence to procedures to maintain product specifications within quality standards.
  • Assist supervisors with employee performance reviews and provide employee acknowledgements for company policy updates.
  • Notify shift supervisor when compliance concerns arise; partner to determine corrective action.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the department.
  • Perform other (or other related) duties as applicable or assigned.



Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:



  • Ability to direct and mentor others and make independent decisions.
  • Excellent math and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fundamental Microsoft Word and Excel skills;Monarch or Kronos experience a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail.



Education and Experience:



  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years' experience working in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Prior lead or supervisory experience in a manufacturing capacity, preferably with a background in digital print, lettershop, or personalization within the direct mail industry.
  • Lean manufacturing and/or quality control training preferred.
  • Previous participation on a safety team and/or other safety training a plus.
  • Knowledge of USPS specifications and/or Commingle Roster experience a plus.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to work 8 hour shifts Monday through Friday.
  • Ability to work overtime when needed.
  • Standard and non-climate-controlled production environment; exposure to loud noise (PPE is provided).
  • Ability to lift, carry and push/pull up to 35 pounds; occasionally up to 65 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, pivot, crouch, squat, kneel, and stoop for up to 8 hours.
  • Upper extremity motion requirements: fine motor movements, pushing/pulling with arms, grasping and pinching.
  • Lower extremity motion requirements: reaching.
  • Post offer, pre-employment medical exam, background and drug screen required.

Salary:
The hourly rate range for this position is $20.00-$24.00/hr.

At IWCO, base pay is determined by job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience, along with factors such as role scope and location.
