Controls Program Manager What this job involves

As a Controls Program Manager, you'll serve as a vital subject matter expert for day-to-day operations teams, providing specialized knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Electrical Power Management Systems (EPMS) in data center environments. You'll utilize control system infrastructure to maintain optimal operational performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement approved system enhancements while maintaining strong relationships with Microsoft engineering departments and service providers.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining BAS/EPMS systems and associated components including instrumentation and control elements
  • Tracking all BAS/EPMS related issues in CMMS and change management ticketing systems
  • Monitoring and identifying mechanical/electrical system abnormalities through data analytics and reporting optimization suggestions
  • Supporting day-to-day operations through in-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical system design and operations intent
  • Maintaining effective working relationships with Microsoft engineering departments while overseeing system configurations and upgrades
  • Managing contracted service providers and providing direct oversight during system changes and component upgrades
  • Ensuring all application changes follow proper change management processes and have written authorization
Desired experience and technical skills Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in controls systems operation and maintenance in a data center or similar mission-critical environment
  • Strong knowledge of CMMS and Microsoft office products including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Must be willing to be on-call 24/7 to respond to emergencies and critical system failures
Preferred:
  • Subject matter expertise in EPMS/BAS Applications, Desigo, Compass, and PME
  • Experience with Windows Server, SQL, Hyper-V and understanding of basic server architecture and Industrial Control Systems Networks
  • Detailed knowledge of BAS and EPMS control system topologies, network architectures, and field devices
  • Working knowledge of common network protocols, TCP/IP, BacNET, LAN/WAN topologies, routing, and switching
  • Proficiency with tools like WireShark, Putty, Terminal Server, etc.
  • Ability to construct SQL queries, trending reports, alarm reports, and point configuration lists for BAS/EPMS data analysis and reporting

Estimated total compensation for this position:

100,000.00 - 130,000.00 USD per year
