Position Summary:

The Mid-Level System Administrator will manage and support on-prem and cloud-based systems hosting CJIS's data infrastructure and tools, ensuring security, performance, and availability.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Linux and AWS-based systems used in Data Engineering pipelines.
• Patch systems, monitor performance, and respond to incidents.
• Maintain access controls, backup/restore procedures, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Collaborate with DevOps and Cloud teams for integrated support and automation.
• Track system documentation and participate in Agile planning and support efforts.
• Perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages, ensuring proper functionality.
• Ensure workstation/server data integrity by implementing and managing software solutions that safeguard data.
• Manage data and media recoverability by scheduling and performing regular system backups and database archive operations.
• Develop and promote standard operating procedures for system maintenance, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
• Conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
• Manage cloud-based applications using AWS services (EC2, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB) to ensure scalability, performance, and security.
• Provide ongoing system maintenance and support, including incident response and the implementation of patches and updates to maintain system integrity and security.
• Support development workflows and version control by utilizing Atlassian tools like Bitbucket and Jira to ensure effective software deployment and project tracking.
• Experience working in an Agile organization using Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, and SAFe.
• Provide team specific training as needed.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience as a System Administrator.
• Proficiency with AWS (EC2, RDS, Lambda, DynamoDB), Linux environments, and Atlassian tools.
• Understanding of Agile DevOps workflows.
• Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills.
• Must be able to report onsite as needed in Clarksburg, WV

The annual salary range for this position is $60,000.00 to $87,000.00.Actual compensation will depend on a range of factors, including but not limited to the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, certifications, location, other business and organizational needs, and applicable employment laws.
