As the Lead Digital & Technology Product Manager with American Family Insurance, you will straddle the strategy and execution of the customer-facing digital/technology product. Conduct analyses of market trends, customer empathy, and internal and external data to define a notable product vision that delivers unique value. Viewed and acts as a leader in discipline, influencing others on product design, best practices, and principles. Drive strategy and innovation as it relates to future technology products. Achieve broad goals and metrics for the service desk.
You will report to the Senior Manager, Technology Services.

Position Compensation Range:

$111,000.00 - $190,000.00

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates.

Primary Accountabilities


  • Lead the digital/technology product vision, strategy, and operational product plans across all lifecycle stages, including planning, customer research, roadmap creation, development, piloting, adoption, launch, metrics analysis, and iteration.
  • Define and communicate a clear product strategy, developing a creative and high-quality roadmap.
  • Enhance user satisfaction by integrating usability studies, research, and market analyses into product requirements.
  • Identify measurements, analyzing customer feedback and usage metrics to address pain points and opportunities.
  • Guide build-buy-partner decisions by gathering relevant information and data to solve customer challenges.
  • Be a "translator" for customers, markets, and internal stakeholders, including business lines and cross-functional teams.
  • Apply design thinking, UX, and other frameworks for a flexible methodology tailored to the team, product, and customer.
  • Prioritize initiatives and secure stakeholder commitments through effective communication and negotiation.
  • Mentor and support team members' development.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills Requirements


  • Proven experience in delivering customer-driven solutions, support, or service.
  • Expertise in digital/technology product offerings.
  • Extensive understanding of software development processes, ensuring high quality with minimal operational overhead.
  • Experience in data-driven products, data science facilitation, and iterative development lifecycles to address our challenges.
  • Ability to gather information for build, buy, and partner options to solve customer problems.
  • Skilled in deriving insights from customer interviews to clarify problem statements.

Additional Skills:


  • Experience working with a large enterprise service desk.

In this hybrid role you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per month out of our Boston, MA or Madison, WI offices.
