Project Manager, Department of Environmental Sciences Department Overview The Department of Environmental Sciences in the College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences is seeking a Project Manager for 32 hours/week, to join the Environmental Institute Climate Collaborative project on Arctic, Snow, Water, and Permafrost Management. The start date for the position will be Sept. 1, 2025; this will be a one-year contract with the potential for renewal for up to three years. Position Summary The project manager will be responsible for many administrative aspects of the project for the research team, including fieldwork logistics, organization of meetings, communications (email, newsletter, website), data management, budget management, and liaison among project participants (academic researchers, agency and private contractors, community collaborators). Minimum Qualifications Education: High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree Preferred Experience: 5 years relevant experience Preferred Qualifications
Physical Demands This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs. The project manager may on occasion accompany the project team to field sites (e.g. Utqiavik, Alaska), which would require tolerance of harsh weather conditions, and long daylight or darkness hours.
