Job Summary:

The Network Engineer II - OMS will design, implement, and maintain advanced Layer 2/3 networking services, and lead escalated troubleshooting, optimization efforts, and expert knowledge in data center networking.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Configure routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), firewall rules, and advanced segmentation. Lead change management processes and perform root cause analysis. Create and manage network topology diagrams and IP schemas. Develop automation for deployments and monitoring. Expert network troubleshooting. Handles other responsibilities as assigned.

Must have proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s). Must be able to diagnose and fix problems with existing equipment and new installs. Must be enthusiastic, passionate, patient and a critical thinker. Must be able to communicate with the customer and have excellent customer service skills. Must be able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. Tools: Basic Hand Tools: screwdriver - all sizes (regular and Phillips,), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (adjustable, needle nose, lineman), hammer, cable stripper, flashlight and gloves. Multimeter, butt-set, toner/wand. Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements: Must have at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor's Degree preferred. Must be able to work well with other people Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project). Must meet Company minimum driving standards. Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. 4-6+ years of experience in data center or enterprise networks. Deep knowledge of Layer 2/3, network security, and high-availability design. Experience with Arista, Cisco Nexus, Juniper, or equivalent platforms. CCNP, JNCIA, or equivalent mid-to-advanced level certification preferred.
