Position Title: Network Technician
Division: Advancia Government Services
Location: Fort Leonard Wood, MO
Position Summary:
The Network Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of the MSCoE network infrastructure. The Technician will assist in resolving connectivity issues, configuring network hardware, and supporting end-users to maintain optimal system performance. Position contingent on contract award
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, and other network hardware
- Monitor network performance and trouble shoot network problems and outages
- Optimize system performance, conduct vulnerability scans and run intrusion detection software, apply security patches to safeguard the system from intrusion and provide virus detection and removal services IAW AR 25-2 on a weekly basis
- Administer the MSCoE Closed Network communication devices and cabling. This includes installation; configuration and updating of Government provided network devices such as switches and routers and the installation and upgrades of network cabling
- Administer systems/networks IAW AR 25-2, DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS), the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Accreditation Process standards,
- Army approved operating system (OS) image and FLW NEC policy.
- Conduct routine network and maintenance and performance tuning
- Perform cable management and network wiring installations as required
Education & Experience Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Degree in information technology, networking, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in network support or similar role
- Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Familiarity with network protocols and network monitoring tools
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and customer
- Ability to work independently
Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands:
- Standing and walking required.
- Ability to lift and move network equipment as needed
- Work in the occupation involves making repetitive motions more than 1/3 of the time
- Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel and bend
