Position Title: Systems Administrator

Division: Advancia Government Services

Location: Fort Leonard Wood, MO

Position Summary:
The Service System Specialist is an IT professional who manages and maintains an organization's server infrastructure, ensuring its smooth operation and security. This role involves a combination of technical expertise in server hardware and software, as well as strong problem-solving and communication skills. Position contingent on contract award.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Administer, maintain, operate and repair Government systems and its peripheral equipment and network.
• Monitor server performance and maintain the server infrastructure.
• Perform regular system updates and patches; ensure server security and compliance with protocols.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for server-related issues.
• Implement data backup and recovery solutions.
• Collaborate with other IT team members for infrastructure projects.
• Manage server user accounts and permissions.
• Maintain and operate Audio Visual systems.
• Ensure the up-time, performance, resources, and security of the servers are maintained to meet the needs of the users
• Setup, upgrade (version change or patches) and configure Microsoft and Linux commercial off the-shelf workstation and server operating systems, commercial application software.
• Optimize system performance, conduct vulnerability scans and run intrusion detection software, apply security patches to safeguard the system from intrusion and provide virus detection and removal services.
• Ensure all computer hardware and software components are compatible, IA compliant, operational and ready for training.
• Assist in execution of all logistics functions; Supply, Maintenance, and Services.
• Other IT duties as assigned.
  
  

Education & Experience Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• High School graduate
• Must have A+ certification for Information Assurance Technical Level I (IAT-I) or higher
• Training in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Strong understanding of server hardware and software systems.
• Experience with virtualization technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., MCSA, CompTIA Server+).
  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of server hardware, operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), and networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• 2+ years of experience in server management and support.
• Valid State Driver's License
• Effectively communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Prior experience supporting the Army and or DOD is a plus.
  
  

Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands:

• Some walking and standing required. You may have to lift and carry equipment (i.e. books, tools, computers, modems) weighing approximately 10-25 pounds
• Most of the work is performed in-doors
• Work in the occupation involves making repetitive motions more than 1/3 of the time
• Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel and bend
