Please Note: The number of openings has been updated from 1 to 2. The Arizona Student Unions is looking for a Dining Services Supervisor to join our team at Highland Grocery, one of our finest convenience store on campus. As a Dining Services Supervisor, you will oversee a team of Cooks, Dining Services Attendants, Cashiers and Sanitation team members. In this position you are responsible for assisting manager with daily operations in front of house and back of house, including ordering supplies, inventory control, food preparation, labor and food costs, budgeting, profit and loss development and labor. Instructing, implementing and monitoring all aspects of safe, sanitary and service-oriented food preparation. This position will need to maintain a flexible work schedule, and will need to be available nights, weekends and holidays. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Assists manager with daily operations for front of house and back of house, including ordering supplies, stocking products, inventory control, food preparation, labor and food costs, budgeting, profit and loss development and staff.
- Maintains excellent customer service by planning, developing and implementing new ideas. Leads and monitors effective customer service practices within the unit.
- Completes required records and reports, including those addressing inventory control and personnel. Issues maintenance orders, receives materials and supplies via the Culinary Services procurement and distribution system.
- Trains assigned staff and coordinates work schedules, communicates oral and written instructions and advises management of corrective action.
- Notifies management of process and quality problems, along with customer complaints.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to interpret instructions and perform basic arithmetic calculations.
- Knowledge in scheduling, customer relations, and maintaining cash flow security is desired.
- Ability to work in conditions associated with indoor food preparation, storage, and service areas, including exposure to mechanical parts, heat and cold.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to occasionally move/transport a maximum of 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays.
