Description

Role: Consumer Loan Officers work with members to provide them with a wide variety of consumer loan products. This position is responsible for recommending and cross-servicing financial products and services to advance Blaze's growth objectives. Consumer Loan Officer's must also exemplify superior member service and build positive member relationships. This position also acts as a resource to the entire organization and members by displaying knowledge and expertise in the financial services field. This position will be located in our St Paul location and must be able available for rotations to work until 6 on Friday and Saturdays until noon.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gathers background information on loan applicants and inputs into Meridian Link.
  • Assists members with the loan application process to ensure completeness of information.
  • Collect any required fees associated with the loan transaction.
  • Calculates debt-to-income ratios.
  • Calculates loan-to-value ratios.
  • Assists members and employees with questions regarding lending products and services.
  • Answers incoming phone calls about potential and current loans.
  • Actively cross sells ancillary loan products.
  • Actively pursues auto refinances.
  • Actively manages cross-department referrals per CU guidelines.
  • Actively cross sells credit union products and services for cross-departmental referrals.

Other Duties

  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control

Requirements

Experience/Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • Minimum 1-2 years of similar or related financial services experience, including lending and phone experience.
  • Minimum High School degree or equivalent.
  • Experience with Meridian Link and DNA helpful.

Demonstrated Knowledge

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft products.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

Communication Skills

Ability to proactively respond to members/associates to problem solve based on guidelines; written communications are based on templates but can be modified.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit and stand; answer calls; operate computer; interact with internal associates and members on the phone; travel to designated offices; lift up to 20 lbs. Weekly schedule includes Saturday hours.

The salary range for this position is: $23.81 - $29.76. This range reflects the base salary for this position. We have other benefits associated with this position which include: low-cost medical (as low as $20 a paycheck), dental insurance, vision insurance, quarterly bonuses, generous vacation and sick time hours, paid leave options, up to 6% 401k contribution, and tuition reimbursement.
