DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Real Estate Project Manager, your primary responsibility is to support the statewide space optimization and utilization plan by identifying barriers faced by the Bureau of Real Estate (BRE) team, tracking efforts to align with agency goals, and improving service delivery for Pennsylvanians. This includes fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, managing engagement, and coordinating co-location opportunities between state agencies to improve collaboration and operational efficiency. You will also have the opportunity to lead change management efforts, ensuring stakeholders are prepared for new processes and environments, and proactively addressing roadblocks related to project budgets, procurement policies, and operational constraints. Work involves tracking multi-million dollar projects, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met, and developing standardized policies and procedures for space management across the Commonwealth. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Engaging with city and county officials to align objectives and overcome jurisdictional challenges related to space requirements and leasing solutions
  • Working with the Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) to develop and report on space utilization metrics, ensuring continuous improvement based on user feedback
  • Ensuring project compliance with budgetary guidelines and statutory requirements
  • Preparing and delivering progress reports to leadership and external stakeholders
  • Promoting cross-functional collaboration, leading pre- and post-project evaluations, and ensuring continuous process improvements

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Office hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, work schedule will be discussed during the interview.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management of staff work in public or private organization, including experience in personnel management budgeting or procurement; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid driver's license.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience managing a large-scale space utilization or office consolidation project
  • Experience coordinating space requirements between multiple agencies or departments
  • Experience working with city or county officials on space planning or leasing projects
  • Experience implementing or managing change management strategies related to space optimization or office relocations
  • Experience overseeing budgets and procurement for space utilization projects, particularly in a government or public sector setting
