The Director, Nursing Research & Analytics is a key member of the Nursing Center of Excellence. This role is primarily responsible for leading the development of content for Press Ganey's nursing solutions, including structure, process, and outcome measures that reflect both patient and nurse experiences, as well as the nursing work environment. The Director also serves as the leader in our development of new and revised metrics within the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI). Serving as a subject matter expert in nursing research and analytics, the Director supports internal teams such as product management, data science, and client advisory by providing strategic insights and evidence-based content. Additionally, the Director plays a vital role in communicating the value proposition of nursing products to clients and external stakeholders, and contributes to the development of whitepapers, trade publications, scientific articles, and presentations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead Content Development
    Develop and refine structure, process, and outcome measures for Press Ganey's nursing solutions, ensuring alignment with both patient and nurse experiences and the nursing work environment.
  • Oversee Metric Innovation
    Direct the creation and revision of metrics within the National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI), ensuring relevance, accuracy, and evidence-based rigor.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert
    Provide expert guidance in nursing research and analytics to internal teams including product management, data science, and client advisory, translating complex data into strategic insights.
  • Support Product Strategy
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform product development and enhancement using evidence-based research and analytics.
  • Communicate Value Proposition
    Articulate the impact and value of nursing products to clients, stakeholders, and external audiences through presentations, consultations, and strategic communications.
  • Contribute to Thought Leadership
    Author and support the creation of whitepapers, trade publications, scientific articles, and conference presentations to advance the field of nursing research and promote Press Ganey's leadership.
  • Ensure Data Integrity and Relevance
    Monitor and evaluate data sources and methodologies to maintain high standards of quality and relevance in nursing analytics.
  • Engage with Stakeholders
    Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in healthcare organizations, academic institutions, and professional associations to support collaborative research and innovation. Leads strategic partnerships with key nursing organizations.

Qualifications

Research Expertise
Demonstrated expertise in nursing research, particularly focused on the nursing work environment and associated outcomes. Proficient in survey design, indicator development and maintenance, benchmarking methodologies, improvement science, evidence-based practice, and performance measurement.

Established record of dissemination

Must have record of scholarly publications and presentations before national and international audiences.

Clinical and Research Experience
Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing workforce experience, combined with at least 5 years of post-graduate research experience in healthcare workforce, quality improvement and/or outcomes research.

Education

Doctoral degree (PhD) in Nursing, Health Services Research, or a related field required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing Required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $100,000 - $170,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
