Oak Plains Academy (a UHS company) - **Exciting opportunity with a locally based adolescent facility**

Oak Plains Academy is looking for people who want to make a difference on our team as a Training and Development Coordinator. The Training and Development Coordinator provides training to new and existing staff on procedures and standards utilized in daily departmental functions; training that spans New Employee Orientation (NEO), Annual Training, regulatory compliance training, and specialized training. Contributes significantly to the formulation, implementation and revision in all areas of the hospital's staff development and training program. Improve the skillsets and knowledge of by providing subject matter expertise to all staff, in efforts to effectively achieve the hospital mission. Works with staff on the floor to support and train as needed. Additional responsibilities as needed to ensure quality services and patient centered support

The ideal candidate will be patient, accepting, and compassionate and have a true desire to train people. The candidate is someone who can adhere to strict guidelines for our policies regarding supervision of the youth in our care and company policies and procedures. There will be times when overtime is required, and we are seeking someone who can adapt to flexible schedules and is passionate about developing people to grow their skills.

Oak Plains Academy is a comprehensive and highly structured 98-bed residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents, struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. Residents receive an individualized treatment plan, geared to meet their personal needs. A professional team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and teachers serve hundreds of children and adolescents annually with the common goal of treating and healing trauma and building resiliency in the residents we serve. Located on 20 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting, about 45 minutes from Nashville, Tennessee, Oak Plains Academy campus features a full-size gymnasium, dining hall, separate academic building, and four dormitories.

Qualifications

  • Facilitates training and workshops, ensuring effective knowledge transfer, skill development, and learning outcomes. Conducting presentation, lectures and interactive activities to engage participants and enhance understanding of behavioral health concepts.
  • Works with staff on the floor to provide hands on training on the job, specifically for new hires and retraining.
  • Implements evaluation measures to assess the effectiveness of training programs, including pre- and post-assessments, and participation feedback surveys. Analyzing data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and make necessary adjustments to training content and delivery.
  • Maintains accurate records of training, attendance, and participant performance. Generating reports on training outcomes and effectiveness.
  • Provides recommendations regarding the development and administration of training programs.
    Assists in implementing Special Treatment Procedures (i.e., Time out, seclusions, physical restraint) as per Policy and Procedure.
  • Develops and maintains skills for communicating with patients, visitors and team members.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, related field, or a technical degree in areas of allied health. (Preferred)
  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent plus at least 5 years' experience in related work experience, in mental health, with demonstrable competence in required knowledge and responsibilities.
  • 5-8 years of related verifiable work experience
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Satisfactory health, strength and stamina to meet the physical, mental and emotional demands and stressors. The position requires: walking, running, standing, lifting, irregular working hours, and assisting with the restraints. This position requires use of "Handle with Care"
  • 21 years of age
  • Flexible schedule
