Role Snapshot

Our Billing and Enrollment Analyst coordinates and facilitates all new groups, renewals, and changes to ensure they are implemented in a timely and accurate manner and to provide best possible customer service experience for insured groups. This includes daily coordination of group processing, in addition to coordinating projects related to implementing automated enrollment processes for groups. our Billing & Enrollment Analyst will also support other related projects and workflow teams as needed. This analyst works closely with internal teams and external vendors to resolve discrepancies, support audits, and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.

Salary Range
$47,000 ~ 67,000
The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may fall outside of this range.

**Employees within 45 miles of WPS Headquarters (1717 W. Broadway in Madison, WI) will be expected to be able to work Hybrid 2 days a week on a regular basis.

  • Would enjoy reviewing inventory and status of all new and renewing groups while collaborating with internal teams to resolve issues and ensure processing of groups in a timely manner.
  • Can document departmental workflows (i.e., procedures, work instructions, checklists); review and revise to ensure all steps are accounted for.
  • Like to work cross-functionally to identify opportunities for workflow improvements and increased efficiency, ensuring compliance with all standard operating procedures.
  • Can prepare and audit all implementation files for new groups and changes at renewal.
  • Are excited to participate and/or lead internal meetings to discuss how best to structure new groups, changes, and renewals.
  • Would like working with the Auditing team to develop effective audit procedures and perform Eligibility / ID card audits; to validate all information is correct.
  • Would enjoy assisting with development and maintenance of overall implementation project plans, schedules, resource plans, priorities and dependencies.
  • Like to facilitate the resolution of project-related issues and conflicts and can also escalate project issues and delays to management.
  • Want to train employees on new processes resulting from project implementation.
  • Can prepare and distribute regular billing and enrollment reports to management and stakeholders.


What will I gain from this role?



  • Being a key contributor on a team of other Billing and Enrollment staff in a highly complex highly regulated environment.
  • An in-depth understanding of state and federal regulations related to eligibility and enrollment, including COBRA, HIPAA.
  • Exposure with system configuration relating to billing, enrollment, ID card production, customer portals, and letter generation.
  • In depth knowledge of premium rating, billing statements, payment posting and billing reconciliation.
  • Experience working in an environment that serves our Nation's military, veterans, Guard and Reserves and Medicare beneficiaries.
  • Working in a continuous performance feedback environment.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or related field, or equivalent post high school education and/or related work experience.
  • 4 or years of experience in health plan operations, enrollment, billing, or related healthcare field.
  • Familiarity with Billing and Enrollment processes and procedures.
  • Detail-oriented with strong planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skillsets.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and maintain positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).


Preferred Qualifications



  • Project Management or Project Coordination experience.
  • 2 or more years of Billing and Enrollment processes and procedures.
  • Experience with FACETS applications related to billing and enrollment.
