Position Description: |
A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Kelly Mulfaul, Ph.D. at the University of Iowa Department of Neuroscience and Pharmacology. Research in the Mulfaul lab focuses on understanding the roll of the immune system in retinal degenerative disease. We utilize induced pluripotent stem cells, human donor tissue and mouse models of retinal degeneration to study the role of monocyte derived macrophages in the progression of age-related macular degeneration. We seek a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with experience in cell and molecular biology techniques and experience with single cell RNA sequencing. |
Education Requirement: |
PhD in molecular biology. |
Required Qualifications: |
- Track record of productivity and prior publications.
- Experience with molecular biology and biochemical techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communiction skills.
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail.

Desirable Qualifications: |
- Expertise in iPSC culture and single cell RNA sequencing.
- Experience with animal models of retinal degeneration.
