Come join our Venice Family Clinic team as a Content Manager and Writer and leverage your expertise and creativity to make a difference in the communities that we serve. This position has a fixed hybrid work schedule, which requires at least 2-days per week on-site. With guidance and direction from Venice Family Clinic's Director of Communication, the Content Manager and Writer plays a crucial role in creating different types of content to communicate about the programs, services and impact of Venice Family Clinic.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing communications to reach many different audiences, including patients, policy makers and elected officials, media, the community-at-large, donors, volunteers and staff.
  • Developing content that is aimed at helping patients get well and stay well; nurturing staff commitment and engagement; inspiring donors and volunteers to deepen their investment; encouraging prospective supporters to get involved; educating elected officials; and forging more meaningful connections with members of the press and the general public.
  • Researching, writing and editing material, and analyzing the performance of a wide variety of print and digital products, including content for the Clinic's websites, e-newsletters, advocacy alerts and social media channels.
  • Actively participating as an integral part of a highly collaborative communications team that partners with departments throughout the organization, including community outreach and advocacy, clinical programs and operations, development, volunteer services, and human resources, among others.

Salary offers are determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, and equity. The full salary range for this position is $68,800 - $141,000 Annual. The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is about $68,800 - $80,000 Annual.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5 years of professional writing experience across several storytelling disciplines, such as journalism, public relations, blogging and marketing communications (preferably in a nonprofit setting).
  • Superior writing, editing, and visual skills to shape stories and messages in innovative and engaging ways that will motivate key stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of relevant software applications including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and content management systems.
  • Excellent organization skills and ability to develop, maintain and execute a strategic editorial calendar.
  • Ability to generate story ideas and develop narrative arcs across media.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to direct graphic designers and other technical experts to develop final print, online or video products.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, and travel to other locations as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Spanish language proficiency preferred.
