Fuss & O'Neill is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in the Hartford, CT office. This is a great opportunity for a motivated professional to apply their technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to a wide variety of complex and engaging building and infrastructure projects.
Working under the direction of a Project Manager, this engineer will play a key role in the assessment, design, and specification of electrical systems for both new construction and renovation projects across multiple sectors. You'll work collaboratively within a multi-discipline team and contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality, code-compliant engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site investigations and condition assessments of existing electrical systems
  • Design and specify power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems
  • Support the development of construction documents including drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate with mechanical, structural, architectural, and civil disciplines
  • Ensure designs align with applicable building codes and client requirements
  • Contribute to project planning, quality assurance, and technical documentation


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, previous consulting experience preferred
  • EIT registration preferred (or ability to obtain within 1 year)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required; Revit (BIM) experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code and applicable State Building Codes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
