Job Title : Systems Administrator
Location: 1420 Spring Hill Rd McLean, Virginia 22102
SUMMARY
We're seeking a proactive, self-motivated System Administrator to join our IT team. You'll play a key role in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing our endpoint infrastructure across Windows, macOS, Microsoft 365, JAMF, Intune, and mobile devices. This position requires someone who takes initiative to identify and resolve issues before they become problems, ensuring seamless operations for all employees in a fast-paced environment.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Desktop & Endpoint Support
* Provide Tier 1 & 2 support for Windows and macOS systems, including installation, configuration, patching, and troubleshooting.
* Manage and maintain user accounts, profiles in Entra.
* Support and administer JAMF for Mac fleet and Intune for Windows/macOS devices, ensuring devices meet compliance and security standards.
* Configure and manage essential network services relevant to endpoint environments (DHCP, DNS, authentication protocols).
* Microsoft 365 Administration
* Provision and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
* Assist with mail flow, licensing, and compliance tasks in M365.
* Mobile Device Support
* Manage, enroll, and support iOS and Android mobile devices using Intune or similar MDM solutions.
* Ensure mobile devices comply with company security policies.
* Troubleshoot mobile device issues, including email, VPN, Wi-Fi, and application access.
* Monitoring & Maintenance
* Monitor logs, performance, and availability of endpoints and mobile devices.
* Analyze trends to proactively resolve issues and improve user experience.
* Maintain thorough documentation of systems, procedures, and configurations.
* Networking (Nice to Have)
* Provide basic hands-on support for network devices (switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi APs) under guidance from senior engineers.
* Help monitor and troubleshoot network connectivity issues impacting endpoint and mobile devices.
* Security & Compliance
* Apply security updates and best practices across devices.
* Enforce company security policies using JAMF, Intune, and other MDM/endpoint security tools.
* Knowledge Sharing
* Develop and maintain self-service documentation (FAQs, guides) to empower users and reduce support requests.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Certifications
Education, Background, and Years of Experience
* 3+ years in system administration or desktop/mobile support in a mixed Windows/macOS environment.
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT or related field preferred; relevant certifications (CompTIA A+/Net+/Security+, M365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, JAMF certifications, or similar) are a plus but not required.

* Proven hands-on experience with Windows 10/11 and macOS.
* Experience managing endpoints and mobile devices with JAMF and Intune.
* Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft 365 administration.
* Familiarity with basic networking concepts and troubleshooting.
* Soft Skills
* Excellent problem-solving ability and initiative to identify/resolve issues proactively.
* Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
* Ability to work independently in an in-office environment.
* Physical
* This role requires you to be on-site 5 days/week in an office environment.
* Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally to assist with workstation or device setup.
* Some standing/walking involved for hardware deployment and support.
Preferred Skills
* Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, or others) for automation.
* Familiarity with hybrid or cloud identity solutions (Entra, Okta).
* Exposure to virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
* Hands-on experience with networking hardware (switches, routers) or certifications like CCNA.
* Experience with the IT asset management lifecycle.
WORKING CONDITIONS Environmental Conditions
* Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages. General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not
hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
Strength Demands
* Light - 20 lbs. Maximum lifting with frequent lift/carry up to 10 lbs. A job is light if less lifting is involved but significant walking/standing is done or if done mostly sitting but requires push/pull on arm or leg controls.
Physical Requirements
* Stand or Sit; Walk; Repetitive Motion; Use Hands / Fingers to Handle or Feel; Stoop, Kneel, Crouch, or Crawl; See; Push or Pull; Climb (stairs, ladders) or Balance (ascend / descend, work atop, traverse).
