Description

The Continuous Improvement Coordinator will develop and implement systems, projects and activities to drive and sustain improved business performance in the areas of cost reduction, revenue protection & growth, and working capital reduction. Works with engineering, safety and line management to ensure employees are equipped with and utilizing the best tools that fit, to solve problems and create culture of continuous improvement.

Duties: Works under general supervision to:

* Meet with operations, engineering and management associates to discuss process issues, helping to identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to improve the production process.

* Own, control, and maintain the internal Fixture and Special Tooling Control Process (SP-PC-7.5.1.3); ensure customer- tooling audits are completed to satisfaction in a timely manner and mitigate the risk of holding these customer-owned assets through proper storage and maintenance.

* Perform 5S plant improvement processes, supervising staff as necessary

* Maintain 5S audits and compile data to monitor and measure results

* Maintain Product Process Audit data and reports

* Serve as Project Manager on various projects as assigned, and Cost Reduction initiatives, tracking and reporting costs for management team.

* Partner with Safety and Operations staff to ensure OSHA and other Safety requirements are met in the execution of project work and built in to regular operations.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field

* Essential MS Office skills to track and report project plans, costs, etc. required

* Prior exposure to Manufacturing & Aerospace environment preferred

* LEAN / Six Sigma, DMAIC and Project Management or other relevant process management experience preferred

* Safety certification / training (e.g., OSHA, NIOSH, etc.) preferred

* Willingness and ability to qualify for fork truck operation

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
