Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and certified Surgical Medical Coder to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Applicants must reside in TX, OK, AL, MO, GA or FL* Key Responsibilities * Review and assign accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for surgical procedures. * Ensure clean and timely data entry, charge posting, and billing of claims. * Validate medical record documentation and apply appropriate modifiers. * Review and appeal denials; work claims and resolve discrepancies. * Collaborate with physicians to ensure proper documentation and coding compliance. * Educate medical staff on coding guidelines and updates. * Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. Qualifications * Required: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or equivalent. * Experience: Minimum 2 years of surgical coding experience * Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and surgical procedures. * Proficiency in EMR systems (Athena preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, and coding software. * Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
