FTE 1Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours 80Work Shift Day: MixedJob Description The Clinical Nurse Specialist/Nurse Practitioner is a registered nurse, who, as a result of graduate education and in-depth clinical experience possesses the advanced knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide expert nursing care. The major functions of the CNS/NP include education, consultation, clinical practice, research, and leadership. The primary responsibility is the direct application of clinical expertise to patients/families and patient care staff. The CNS/NP plans, implements, coordinates and evaluates nursing care and clinical programs for patients. In addition, the CNS/NP advances nursing practice and optimizes patient outcomes through education, leadership and participation in clinical research in collaboration with Service Line Leader and Physicians. The CNS/NP practices in accordance with the California Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code of Ethics, and the ANA Bill of Rights for Nursing as well as the Hospital/Department policies. The CNS/NP provides care in a collaborative manner with other health team members to ensure optimal, individualized patient care and outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
Qualification: Master's degree in Nursing. Must have at least 24 months clinical nursing experience in area of specialty. Demonstrated ability to produce results and coordinate projects Experience of expertise in quality improvement and evidenced based practice. Prior CNS, NP or nursing education experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, conflict resolution skills. Department Specific: Neonatal: Three (3) years of recent experience in neonatal nursing care including at least one in a facility with an NICU that is equivalent to a Regional or Community NICU and demonstrated clinical competence and in-depth knowledge in the clinical area. Behavioral Health: Knowledge of utilization review, discharge planning, clinical pathways, managed care and "Best Practice Guidelines" preferred. HVI: Three (3) years of recent experience in acute nursing and demonstrated clinical competence and in-depth knowledge in the clinical area. License/Certification/Registration Requirements Current California RN license. California certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or California licensure as a NP in specialty area BLS certification Salary Range: $105.68 - $142.64 USD HourlyThe Physical Requirements and Working Conditions of this job are available.
