Job Summary: The Primary Care Safety Net Clinic is an integral part of New York City Health + Hospitals ambulatory care service. The mission of the clinic is to effectively engage people experiencing homelessness who also have complex care needs. In addition to this, the clinic aims to provide trauma-informed care focused on patient-oriented care goals while addressing substance use, mental health, housing progression, and comorbid medical conditions. To help fulfill this mission, the Primary Care Safety Net is looking for a psychiatric provider to provide services and help implement an interdisciplinary care team model in a health care system combining primary care, social work, care coordination, and nursing. Time Expectations: Three Weekdays Per Week. 9:00am - 5:00pm. Opportunity to participate in additionally compensated coverage outside the salaried hours. General responsibilities: Provide psychiatric and medical care to all assigned patients in collaboration with nursing staff, other disciplines, and consultants from other services when applicable. Adhere to appropriate clinical documentation to ensure compliance with current standards of clinical practice and adherence to all regulatory and accreditation standards. Teach/supervise trainees and students as assigned. Maintain effective communication with patients, patients' families when applicable, and other disciplines. Compliance: Be familiar with all departmental policies and protocols. Complete all required activities related to maintaining credentialing and other mandates at both Bellevue and NYU Complete yearly flu vaccination and fit test requirements and documentation. Documentation: Ensure that all documentation in the EMR is accurate and complete. Complete legal documents on patients if applicable. Graduation from an approved medical school. Completion of a residency in psychiatry at an approved institution Possession of clinical and other skills ensuring competence in completion of specified duties License & Credentials: License to practice medicine in the state of New York. American Board of Psychiatry Eligibility/Certificate in Psychiatry. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with undomiciled individuals with SMI, substance use disorders and complex needs Understanding of New York City Department of Homeless Services Shelter systems and outreach teams Bilingual in English and Spanish (or another language) Experience with conducting appropriate psychiatric evaluation for housing to help guide with housing appropriate designations NYU Langone Healthis an equal opportunity employer and committed to inclusion in all aspects of recruiting and employment.
