Job Description

Baker College is seeking a Regional Admissions Recruiter to join our Admissions Team!


The Regional Admissions Recruiter serves as the primary representative at college events, including speaking engagements, college fairs, and admissions activities, to promote Baker College. This role involves recruiting prospective students, identifying new markets, and supporting the implementation of recruitment strategies. Additionally, the recruiter will conduct career presentations, advise high school staff on Baker College programs, and effectively communicate to inspire potential students to enroll. Dependability, organization, and teamwork are essential qualities for success in this position.


The ideal candidate will coordinate and deliver high school presentations, college visits, and other events to engage prospective students, parents, and counselors. Build and maintain relationships with high school and community college staff, support educational events, and represent Baker College at various fairs and receptions. Provide information on admissions, academic programs, financial aid, and transfer credits. Participate in advisory boards and committees, evaluate program effectiveness, and contribute to community service activities to enhance the Baker College brand. Maintain strong presentation, organizational, and communication skills to effectively connect with diverse audiences.


Regional Admissions Recruiters based in Muskegon primarily focus on recruitment efforts in Southwestern Michigan, Northern Indiana, and the Chicagoland area.


A bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Education, Counseling, or a related discipline is required, with bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking skills preferred. The candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication abilities and demonstrate exceptional customer service. Proficiency in computer skills is essential, enabling effective use of technology. The role requires the ability to respond to inquiries, concerns, and comments from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members using the most effective communication method, whether phone, text, social media, email, or chat. The candidate must be adept at solving practical problems with limited standardization and capable of interpreting various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate competent management of activities within an assigned geographical territory in Michigan, including out-of-state recruitment opportunities as needed. Finally, the candidate must have a valid Michigan driver's license.
