Architect (full-time, multiple openings) needed in San Francisco, CA to determine how to strategically and pragmatically approach the design of the project by determining the types of materials to be used on the project from the proposal process through project definition and launch by determining the zoning and code requirements for the project. Provide technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design issues such as ensuring that design solutions meet all regulatory requirements. This includes developing and proposing multiple strategies and methods to innovatively approach the project's design, as well as conceiving various design approaches. Lead all project phases to drive client projects from concept through design development to obtain client approval of the design. This includes conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design (graphic presentations, physical models, 3D renderings) and design development. Collaborate and communicate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, vendors and regulatory agencies to create presentations to meet overall project objectives. Visually synthesize client project goals and direct assimilation into the project. Lead pre-design tasks, including occupancy studies and zoning analyses. Once the designs are developed, prepare and produce detailed Revit drawings and ensure that the client, project team and contractors can easily comprehend designs. Lead the construction administration phase of the project, including insuring builder compliance with design specifications, responding to substitution requests, RFI's (requests for information), reviewing shop drawings and submittals by contractor and advise on design corrections. Conduct and document site visits. Lead documentation coordination with full consultant teams such as structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustic and other consultants. Research and specify materials appropriate for project execution to validate that they are the right materials based on performance criteria. Lead the sustainability integration and coordination of any project certifications as part of the requirements for the project. Must have a Master's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field, plus two (2) years of design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship) with all of the following: (1) 2D and 3D Software, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, 3DS Max, and Enscape; (2) Working experience with workplace interiors and technology client projects including workspace, culinary spaces, and amenity spaces; (3) Producing high quality plans, sections, elevations and construction details for technology and retail clients; (4) Coordinating with Structural, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), Lighting, AV, acoustic, and other consultants; (5) Construction Administration experience with large-scale corporate campuses and with technology companies; (6) Preparing full Design Development, Schematic Design, Construction Document sets in Revit; Developing all design stages of large complex projects; (7) Utilizing site surveys, design sketches and other inputs to prepare digital architectural models using Revit and/CAD based on BIM development standards; AND (8) Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures. In the alternative, we will accept a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field, plus five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor's degree design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship). Two (2) years of the five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor's degree design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship) must include experience with all of the following: (1) 2D and 3D Software, AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, 3DS Max, and Enscape; (2) Working experience with workplace interiors and technology client projects including workspace, culinary spaces, and amenity spaces; (3) Producing high quality plans, sections, elevations and construction details for technology and retail clients; (4) Coordinating with Structural, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), Lighting, AV, acoustic, and other consultants; (5) Construction Administration experience with large-scale corporate campuses and with technology companies; (6) Preparing full Design Development, Schematic Design, Construction Document sets in Revit; Developing all design stages of large complex projects; (7) Utilizing site surveys, design sketches and other inputs to prepare digital architectural models using Revit and/CAD based on BIM development standards; AND (8) Working knowledge of building codes, standards, building construction, and building structures. The base salary range is $111,114.00 to $118,000.00, commensurate with relevant experience. Standard benefits will be offered, and employees will be eligible for bonuses. |
