The responsibility of the Environmental, Health and Safety Security Officer is always to ensure plant and employee safety.
The EH&S Security Officer is expected to patrol and validate the interior and
exteriors of the plant are safe and secured.
In the event there is an issue or safety concern the EH&S Security Officer is expected work with management to defuse the issue or concern quickly in the
appropriate manner for each situation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL DUTIES):
* Protect company's property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment
* Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property
* Take accurate shift notes of unusual occurrences and observation of patrols
* Perform irregular Patrols of both internal and external perimeters of facility
* Understand and know the plant perimeters; know where all safety exits are located
* Be an active member in Health and Safety Committee
* Assist in plant evacuations and drills
* Assist in Incident Command Management
* Understanding and ability to "act" under the company's Crisis Management Program
* Assist in accident investigations and other safety related tasks
* Monitor and maintain reports ensuring accuracy of emergency information
o Inspection Reports
* Alarm Systems
* Fire Suppression Systems
* Emergency Lighting
* Elevators
* Watch alarm systems or video cameras and operate detecting/emergency equipment
* Monitor and control access at building entrances and company parking lots
* Monitor Parking and issue parking permits to employees
* Security will monitor temperature checks at shift change to ensure potentially ill employees stay home
* Monitor and maintain access card system; issue, deactivate and replace access cards
* Monitor and maintain locker rooms, lockers, and padlocks
* Assist Safety Trainer in Safety Training for new hires and continuous safety training for existing employees
* This list is not "all inclusive" other miscellaneous tasks may be requested such as shoveling walkways and removing safety hazards.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
* ABILITY TO OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE AND A CLEAN DRIVING RECORD.
* PROVEN WORK EXPERIENCE AS A SECURITY GUARD OR RELEVANT POSITION (AT LEAST 2 YEARS WITHIN AN INDUSTRIAL/COMPANY SETTING PREFERRED)
* ABILITY TO OPERATE DETECTING SYSTEMS AND EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT
* SURVEILLANCE SKILLS AND DETAIL ORIENTATION
* INTEGRITY AND PROFESSIONALISM
* COMPUTER LITERATE; COMFORTABLE WORKING WITH EXCEL & OUTLOOK
* HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED PREFERRED

THE EMPLOYEE IS OCCASIONALLY REQUIRED TO SIT; CLIMB OR BALANCE; AND STOOP, KNEEL, CROUCH OR CRAWL. THE EMPLOYEE MUST FREQUENTLY LIFT AND/OR MOVE UP TO 25 POUNDS AND OCCASIONALLY LIFT AND/OR MOVE UP TO 50 POUNDS. SPECIFIC VISION ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THIS JOB INCLUDE CLOSE VISION, DISTANCE VISION, COLOR VISION, PERIPHERAL VISION, DEPTH PERCEPTION AND ABILITY TO ADJUST FOCUS.
