Accounting Clerk

We would like someone with a little accounting experience, but this is an entry level position. Please note, the Essential Duties & Responsibilities listed are divided between multiple people...we like to cross train.

Summary

Under the direction of the Vice President General Affairs and Accounting the Accounting Clerk performs general accounting duties in accordance with prescribed procedures and accounting practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform account receivables duties; order entry, shipment entry, invoice customers, new customer entry, collection calls, UCC preparation and filing, maintain and prepare rep commission payments, and filing.
• Compile, sort and retrieve incoming checks, ach transfers, and wire payments from customer. Input deposits received in company bank account.
• Perform account payables duties; Purchase Order entry, Purchase Order receipt entry, vendor invoice entry, new vendor entry, vendor payment entry, expense report review and entry, verify invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents; phone vendors to resolve discrepancies, request checks to pay invoices, and filing.
• Prepare and mail out checks. ACH, credit card, and wire transfer vendor preparation and payment entry.
• Maintain payroll system; update changes to payroll; prepare worksheets for outside payroll service; verify the correctness and completeness of all information.
• Process various accounting related reports required by management or government agencies.
• Perform bank reconciliation procedures for Company accounts.
• Assist with other accounting functions such as taxes, monthly and yearly financial reports.
• File and maintain clerical records and reports.
• Follow all housekeeping procedures.
• Comply with all quality, safety and sanitation regulations.
• Answer incoming phone calls.
• Help with physical inventory counting.
