Introduction:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experiencedSenior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO)to lead and manage cybersecurity initiatives across complex systems and development environments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of federal and state information security standards, hands-on technical expertise, and a proactive approach to securing enterprise systems in agile and cloud-based environments.

This is a proposal-based position; employment is contingent upon contract award and funding availability.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Serve as the primary security advisor for assigned systems, ensuring compliance with federal and organizational cybersecurity policies and procedures.

  • Implement and maintain security controls in accordance withNIST,DISA STIGs,OWASP,Common Criteria, andSANS Institutebest practices.

  • Collaborate with development teams operating underScaled Agile Framework (SAFe)to integrate security into the software development lifecycle.

  • Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and security audits; develop and track mitigation plans.

  • Support the development and maintenance ofSystem Security Plans (SSPs),Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), andContinuous Monitoring (ConMon)strategies.

  • Provide technical guidance on secure networking, system administration, and application development.

  • Oversee the implementation and security ofCI/CD pipelines, virtualization technologies, andcloud computing platforms(e.g., AWS, Azure).

  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely remediation of security findings and continuous improvement of security posture.

Location:
This position will be based in Clarksburg, WV. This is a hybrid position, so you must be within commuting distance of Clarksburg, WV.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degreein Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

  • 6+ yearsof progressive experience in information systems security.

  • Demonstrated experience with federal and/or state government cybersecurity practices.

  • Strong technical background innetworking,system administration, andsoftware development.

  • Working knowledge ofCI/CD pipelines,virtualization,software-defined infrastructure, andcloud technologies.

  • Familiarity with security frameworks and compliance standards includingNIST RMF,FISMA, andFedRAMP.

  • Top Secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)- Highly recommended.

  • Cloud Security Certification(e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate) - Preferred.

  • Experience with security tools such as Nessus, Splunk, Wireshark, and endpoint protection platforms.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
