Minimum Experience/Education |
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: |
- Master's degree in Instructional Design or related educational field, or graduate coursework in Education, Instructional Design, or Instructional Technology.
- Experience with course building in a Learning Management System
- Experience with Articulate Storyline and Articulate Rise
- Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 guidelines or Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, assistive technology such as: screen readers and screen magnifiers such as JAWS, NVDA, Narrator, Fusion/ZoomText; WAVE and/or aXe web accessibility evaluators, color contrast analyzers, Canvas, captioning software

Duties and Responsibilities |
- Set up and format online courses in the Learning Management System (Canvas) according to design templates and quality standards.
- Populate course shells with finalized content, including readings, assignments, discussion prompts, assessments, and media.
- Track course development work and hours in management tools such as Monday.com and Ready Go.
- Maintain organized file management practices across shared drives and course development repositories.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in course structure, naming conventions, and navigation flow.
- Link and test course tools such as gradebooks, rubrics, modules, and third-party integrations.
- Assist in course version control and updates, tracking edits from instructional designers or faculty SMEs.
- Communicate with team members to confirm updates, escalate issues, or clarify design decisions.
- Support the development of training materials for faculty or student users on course tools and navigation.
- Perform accessibility testing of digital course content, which includes third-party websites, software applications, different document formats, multimedia, and Canvas content.
- Remediate documents and media to ensure ADA compliance (e.g., adding alt text, heading structure, descriptive hyperlinks).
- Collaborate with accessibility experts or IDs to resolve more complex compliance issues.
- Develop simple interactive learning objects using tools like Articulate Rise or Storyline with guidance.
- Edit and format various instructional content, graphics, or diagrams to align with instructional goals and accessibility standards.
- Upload and organize multimedia assets (audio, video, images) in course platforms or shared drives.
- Attend regular team meetings.
- Upon successful completion of training, this position may be eligible for telework, in accordance with the currently approved School of Professional Studies telework policy and subject to leadership discretion.
- This temporary position is scheduled to end on December 19, 2025, with the possibility of extension based on operational needs and budget availability. If extended, the new assignment period would run from January 19, 2026, through June 30, 2026.
