Essential Job Duties
The Libraries Studios Temporary Technician primarily supports the Studios spaces in the James B. Hunt Jr. Library including the Maker Studio, Music Rooms, Media Studio and VR Room.

  • Staffs Maker Studio when necessary
  • Assists with student scheduling and management
  • Maintains Studio spaces to make sure they up and working for patrons by requesting supplies and ticketing IT and OLE issues
  • Helps support technology consultation requests
  • Updates Hunt Studios signage, website, and hours and supports data collection
  • Supports programing including workshops and pop-up activities at Hunt
  • Occasional support of Studio spaces at Hill library
  • Supports technology lending, managing special requests at Hunt and device reset

  • Experience with relevant technologies that support maker, digital media, gaming and virtual reality technology
  • Experience delivering outstanding customer service
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, high-demand environment, and to manage multiple, sometimes competing, priorities
  • Ability to exercise good judgement in interpreting and communicating policies and procedures
  • Computing skills, including familiarity across operating systems and fluency with office applications
  • Ability to communicate clearly and knowledgeably via in-person, phone, email, and online interactions
  • Ability to foster a welcoming environment of belonging for the student, faculty, staff and public visitor community at NC State
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills
