Position Summary

The Maintenance Training Specialist develops and implements Maintenance Training that meets the requirements of the company's Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP) and Code of Federal Regulations, utilizing outsourced training providers and the General Maintenance Manual (GMM). This role involves developing appropriate training materials for maintenance initial, recurrent, and ad hoc training, as well as deploying, tracking, and measuring training records in the Learning Management System. The specialist will maintain both electronic and paper-training records for all maintenance personnel.

Duties



  • Designs, audits, evaluates, and updates maintenance training materials to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures, and to maximize learning effectiveness.
  • Develops technical training, required inspection item training, and recurrent training for all inspection and RII inspection personnel.
  • Incorporates all changes in maintenance and inspection policies and procedures into the Training Program.
  • Coordinates with stakeholders and partners (Maintenance, Cargo, Safety, Security, Dangerous Goods, and Quality) to provide support and ensure training needs are met.
  • Assures all maintenance and inspection training records are complete and accurate.
  • Maintains and secures all Maintenance and Inspection paper and electronic training records.
  • Ensures appropriate record keeping for all Maintenance and Inspection training records.
  • Coordinates with the Senior Director Learning and Development and invested stakeholders on the submission of new Maintenance and Inspection training classes.
  • Assists NAC Senior Directors of Quality, Maintenance, and Cargo with the revisions, update content, and subsequent FAA approval of Company aircraft maintenance programs.
  • Provides qualitative and quantitative training metrics of training courses and/or programs.
  • Develops NAC Maintenance indoctrination training, technical training, and recurrent training for all maintenance personnel.
  • Administers and manages all vendor training.
  • Develops Maintenance Operations Training and revises existing training.
  • Acts as the main LMS Administrator, ensuring all required initial and recurrent CBTs are administered, tracked, and recorded in the Learning Management System (Cornerstone).
  • Assists NAC Quality Assurance Auditors with any Outsource Maintenance Provider requirements and coordinates with Outsource Maintenance Provider in setting up training events.
  • Responsible for identifying hazards within the NAC and AAC operations and systems and reporting those hazards through the WBAT or departmental hazard reporting systems.
  • Contributes to a positive and productive work environment.
  • Functions as a Technical Training Developer and Instructor.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Position Qualifications and Requirements

Education



  • Airframe and Powerplant Certification
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.


Experience & Qualifications



  • Prior training experience in an instructional design or facilitation capacity (2 years).
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, facilitation techniques, and instructional design premises.
  • Valid airman certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings (3 years) - Required.
  • Preferred: Experience with company aircraft (Boeing 737 & 767).
  • Preferred: Experience in 14 CFR Part 121 aircraft maintenance and inspection.
  • Preferred: Experience in a leadership role (2 years).
  • Familiar with applicable CFRs. Ability to rapidly become familiar with NAC maintenance policies and procedures, NAC Operation Specifications Parts D and E, and aircraft maintenance manuals.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Learning Management systems and authoring tools such as Articulate, Captivate, PowToon, Vimeo, etc. strongly preferred.
  • Must be a team player and flexible. Must be able to work alternate shifts as needed.
  • Requires ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening, background check, and receive TSA clearance to work in a secure area.


Travel



  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%, as needed.


Language and Communication Skills



  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from mechanics, managers, or outside agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and follow directions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, FAA regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write training materials, correspondence, and other related materials.


Work Environment



  • Employee will reside in geographic territory, reporting to office daily.
  • Will travel as needed to other operating companies.
  • Most work is performed in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation.
  • May also spend time in the maintenance hangar, which involves working around aircraft and varying temperatures (heat and cold).


Physical Requirements



  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, sit for extended periods of time, and lift 50 Lbs.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, see, or hear.
