Position Summary:

The Katz School is seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to serve as Director of Academic Programs. This role is ideal for a mission-driven professional who thrives at the intersection of higher education, project management, and academic innovation. The Director will support school-wide planning and lead high-impact projects that drive academic growth, operational excellence, and student success. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with the Dean's Office, program leadership, and faculty across the school to coordinate initiatives that advance the school's multi-year strategy. The position offers broad visibility, senior-level collaboration, and a platform for making meaningful institutional contributions.

Position Responsibilities:
|
Responsibilities include: Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Coordinate implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the School's strategic plan and academic priorities.
- Partner with the Dean's Office, Senior Director of Planning, Budget and Finance, Director of Assessment and CQI, and academic leadership to drive cross-functional initiatives.
- Lead implementation teams on action plans, timelines, resource acquisition, evaluation, and reporting.
- Ensure strategic initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Monitor progress and communicate results of key initiatives to stakeholders.
Program Development and Market Research:
- Conduct research and analysis to support the development of new academic programs, strategic partnerships, and mission-aligned growth opportunities.
- Explore opportunities for grants, foundations, and philanthropic support in collaboration with school leadership.
- Identify potential external partners, including national organizations, non-profits, academic institutions, and community organizations.
Executive Support and Communication:
- Draft high-level presentations, reports, and internal/external communications for the Dean's Office.
- Support the Dean's Office on complex and sensitive initiatives requiring discretion and independent judgment.
- Work independently on high-level projects as needed.
- Some evening, weekend, and occasional travel may be required.

Experience & Educational Background:
|
- Master's degree required; PhD a plus.
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, nonprofit, or academic administration.
- Demonstrated success in at least two of the following: strategic planning, project management, academic program development, or institutional research-with capacity to grow into the others.
- Experience managing complex projects across teams with competing priorities.

- Proven project management skills, with the ability to lead multi-phase initiatives from planning through execution.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to build trust across departments and hierarchical levels.
- High attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex information for executive use.
Preferred:
- Experience with systems development, process improvement, or operational scaling in academic or mission-based environments.
- Familiarity with education technology, data tools, or emerging AI platforms.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

$110,000 - $120,000
