Location: This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to the One Energy Plazalocated in Jackson, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).

General Summary of Job Responsibilities
The Emergency Manager will execute and support the delivery of the Emergency Management Program. This includes the development and maintenance of the Integrated Preparedness Plan to prepare the company for the response and recovery from emergent incidents in accordance with the Homeland Security and Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) methodology. Support delivery of the Business Continuity Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver FEMA Based Incident Command System Training and Business Continuity Plan Training
  • Support and monitor the Emergency Management and Business Continuity Program Requirements to ensure all assigned in-scope organizations and departments meet program requirements
  • Participate in Regulatory Work Groups and Benchmarking Groups to comply with regulations and incorporate industry best practices advance the maturity of the program (e.g. EEI, MPSC, AGA, MEA, PHMSA)
  • Respond to emergent incidents at the request of Director, Organization or Department to support ICS Activations and/or serve in the ICS as Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Manager or Lessons Learned Advisor
  • Work with assigned organizations and departments to create and maintain emergency response and business continuity plans
  • Support Development and delivery of company wide emergency exercises to practice responding to emergent events using emergency response plans, business continuity plans and the incident command system (ICS). Create and facilitate after action reports per HSEEP guidelines and support the tracking of improvement items
  • Support assigned organizations and departments with the development of after-action reports following an incident, including Improvement Plan Tracking during Monthly Operating Reviews (MORs)
  • Administer the Mass Notification System
  • Maintain the company's Integrated Preparedness Plan and help facilitate the annual Integrated Preparedness and Planning Workshop
  • Other duties as assigned or may be necessary

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management or Related Field (Required) 2 years in Working in an Emergency Management Office in the Public or Private Sector. Experience developing, maintaining emergency plans, conducting training and exercises. (Required)
  • [OR]Associate Degree in Emergency Management or Related Field (Required) 4 years in Working in an Emergency Management Office in the Public or Private Sector. Experience developing, maintaining emergency plans, conducting training and exercises. (Required)
  • [OR] Highschool Diploma 6 years in Working in an Emergency Management Office in the Public or Private Sector. Experience developing, maintaining emergency plans, conducting training and exercises. (Required)
