What to Expect
This role focuses on managing all aspects of cell testing for both development and production cells within the Cell Engineering team. The Sr. Test Engineer will collaborate closely with development and production teams, as well as cell program managers, to share test results, refine test methods, and discuss findings. Responsibilities include identifying and developing new cell testing schedules and techniques to validate performance and lifetime across various cell chemistries and use cases. This position will work with cell test labs globally to standardize and optimize workflows, while partnering with facility, equipment, data, and modeling teams to ensure tests meet specifications and results are delivered accurately and on time.
What You'll Do
- Develop cycler schedules for new testing protocols
- Perform cell tests and create detailed reports and metrics
- Analyze test results to inform development and production processes
- Standardize operating procedures and workflows with global test labs
- Participate in equipment requirements and design reviews
- Contribute to commissioning, calibration, and validation activities
What You'll Bring
- Knowledge of lithium battery chemistry
- Understanding of lithium battery formation processes and lifetime performance
- Experience in battery testing and failure analysis
- Prior programming experience with tools such as Python or MATLAB
- Degree in Material Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or related science/engineering field, or equivalent experience with 3+ years in a relevant field
- Alternatively, 5+ years of experience in battery cell testing and failure analysis

Expected Compensation
$98,800 - $165,300/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
