Who we are and what we do: The Tennessee Department of Correction operates and oversees 14 adult prisons across the state, housing some 21,000 offenders. In the community, TDOC supervises 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community corrections. The department operates 44 probation/parole offices in 13 districts across the state. How you make a difference in this role: The Tennessee Department of Correction operates safe and secure facilities and provides effective community supervision in support of successful reentry. Job Overview: The Compliance Specialist 2 will act as the liaison between OIG and divisions responsible for developing policies by assisting the Policy Development Director in coordinating policy reviews, policy icon updates, reviewing ACA standards referenced in policies, tracking policy review steps, and maintaining staff access to policies and forms. This position may also require infrequent travel to assist with policy binder and inmate library audits as assigned. During regular business hours, this position will be assigned to TDOC Central Office and reports directly to the Policy Development Director. Key Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications: Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree and experience equivalent to five years of correctional work. Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying full-time professional or paraprofessional correctional experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of four years. OR 5 years of compliance or auditing experience in correctional facilities or programs.
